I’m building a career at the intersection of cybersecurity, policy, governance, privacy, and communication. Currently completing a Bachelor of Security Studies at Macquarie University, I’ve developed strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of how technological, political, and human factors shape today’s security environment. What draws me to cybersecurity is the challenge of translating complex information into clear, actionable insights that support informed decision-making. I’m particularly interested in how policy and governance frameworks influence organizational behavior across various sectors. I’ve explored these interests through hands-on experience, including leading a student team in partnership with Avant’s cybersecurity division as part of Macquarie’s PACE program. We developed a customized controls library aligned with NIST CSF 2.0 and MITRE frameworks, which strengthened my understanding of governance and risk management while enhancing my leadership, teamwork, and technical communication skills. I also gained experience in open-source research and reporting for a cybersecurity startup, honing my analytical thinking and ability to communicate findings to non-technical audiences. In my current role, I coordinate the planning and delivery of cybersecurity events across the APAC region, collaborating with senior industry professionals, speakers, and stakeholders to design impactful programmes focused on governance, Trust & Safety, and policy. Through this role, I continue to sharpen my ability to manage complex projects and engage with diverse stakeholders to create meaningful event experiences. Previously, I participated in the CyAN Cybersecurity Youth and New Professionals mentorship program, where I received valuable guidance on career development and explored pathways aligned with policy, privacy, and communication. As I continue to grow in my career, I’m seeking opportunities where I can contribute to governance, risk, privacy, and communication-focused cybersecurity roles, while advancing as an early-career professional.
