I represented the University of Canberra at the ALSA 2025 Nationals, competing in the Witness Examination (WitEx). I was one of 16 WitEx competitors from across Australia and New Zealand who competed at Nationals.
Under the direction of the Director, I act as instructor to counsel in Supreme Court trials, assist in the preparation of trials by organising and analysing briefs of evidence, prepare court documents, liaise with witnesses, assist generally in litigation, undertake case management responsibilities, prepare advices of a basic nature, and contribute to team and corporate objectives.
Associate to Refshauge AJ who presides over the Drug and Alcohol Sentencing List of the ACT Supreme Court. My role involves assisting Refshauge AJ in court, assisting with legal and general research, proof-reading judgments, managing files in chambers, and liaising with registry, members of the profession, parties and the general public.
Role within the ACT Legal Aid Commission in the General Practice. This is a division of Legal Aid primarily practicing in family and personal violence, care and protection, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) reviews, tenancy, employment, Victims of Crime (support), child recovery, mental health, guardianship and migration law matters. My role involved coordinating and supervising paralegals and interns, working closely with a large in-house team of junior and senior solicitors, working with external firms, conducting court work, managing client files and assisting vulnerable and disadvantaged people with their legal concerns.
