I worked at Emmie Murphy’s Village Store in my local village during the summers of 2023 and 2024. My duties included serving customers politely and professionally, as well as restocking the shop floor. I developed personnel skills and experience in treating and serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner, whilst learning the importance of customer relations when running a business. Additionally, I had to work in a team which involved collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
In 2020, I established my own business specialising in commissioned paintings, where I developed the ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest quality of work. As a self-employed artist, I managed all aspects of the business, from customer service and bookings to marketing and promotion. By leveraging social media and word-of-mouth marketing, I successfully grew my client base and saw a significant increase in orders.
