Director R&D leading a diverse team of researchers, scientists, engineers, project managers for meeting major objectives within the Advanced Surgery Global Business Unit. In this role, I am responsible of high complex programs, innovation, sustaining and product expansion, I am accountable for project success, establishing clear objectives to the project core teams, decision-making, as well as problem solving, management and execution to meet senior management expectations and business commitments.
Responsible for meeting major objectives for the Advanced Surgery organization, which is shared with other senior management in the business. Supervise high-level professionals/ researchers/scientists/ engineers / project managers in their assigned project activities. Establish business/technical objectives of research project groups and advise on problem solving efforts in own area and others'. Drive specific innovation initiatives consistent with business objective and/or operational efficiency activities to position organization for the future. Assume significant responsibility for the size, importance, cost and timelines of a critical project or portfolio of projects.
I provide business and technical leadership for major, high-complexity programs (e.g., Baxter Top Projects) within the Franchise, I am leading project teams through the identification, justification, prioritization, initiation, development and implementation processes. I lead the teams in financial analysis including market research, cash flow, capital, and program positioning. I collaborate with marketing, legal and purchasing to develop and negotiate contracts. I interact with and influence senior internal and external stakeholders. I make launch date commitments to businesses and manage stakeholder expectations with regard to Baxter deliverables during the program.
Accountable for core team performance, program schedule and execution, budget commitments and spend. Leads team in defining program priorities, strategies, and developing goals. Provides clear direction on product lifecycle management requirements to meet expectations of external customers and business stakeholders Interacts through program updates and reviews with all functions and levels of management ensuring effective ongoing communications across teams and stakeholders Ensures identification and communication of project risks, development of risk plan and proactive management of risk response strategies Anticipates potential conflict situations for proactive solutions and manages conflict situations to result in win-win outcomes Maximizes business results through continuous improvement in organization's ability to execute programs from identification through implementation
