I like finding ways of making things easier for people. I’m an analytical thinker and a problem-solver, focused on delivering creative and effective communications to the right audience at the right time. Experienced in both strategy and delivery roles, working through technical and regulatory requirements to make the complex clear and coherent. I value honesty, integrity and doing the right thing and I want to make a difference. I really enjoyed studying with Bath Spa University on the ClickStart program where I enjoyed expanding my skills in social media, SEO, UX/UI and web development. In the past I've worked alongside colleagues in these areas and contributed/consulted on their plans, but it's been really good fun getting my teeth into it and putting my skills to practice in new ways.
Freelance role, preparing facilities and paperwork, conducting examinations according to regulations, supporting staff and students where necessary. I enjoy this role as it gives me insight into Education sector and how staff and students interact with each other. I also like the variability of the role; truly no two days are the same, so it keeps me on my toes!
▪ Conducted review of website and created new wireframe plans for future content strategy. ▪ Created a presentation to introduce the organisation and new course programme. ▪ Supported individual learners during classes and carried out employment tracking calls. ▪ Gathered evidence for Disability Confident Employer assessment. ▪ Created internal audit template to capture future activities against Gatsby Principles.
I chose to take some time to support my family through transitions of navigating pandemic, starting school and generally growing up. And yes, I did the whole lockdown cliché thing of getting a cat, and a dog, although I resisted the air fryer! During this time, I maintained connections with my "professional self" by becoming an avid listener of industry podcasts, continuing my online learning of developments in communications and marketing practices (such as AI, GDPR regulations, email best practice etc) and taking opportunities to apply my skills where I can. I have taken on a number of volunteer roles, the most regular has been my work at Amnesty bookshop where I've been able to be a part of a worldwide cause and engage with my local community at the same time. I also completed a training programme with Women's Work Lab, through which I did a work placement at The Restore Trust.
TUPE role from below. Additionally, ▪ Created digital KPI reporting dashboard to assist with internal auditing and performance tracking. ▪ Employee Forum member representing colleagues in employment consultations. ▪ As part of Global charitable activity, travelled to rural Malawi with BuildOn, working with local communities to build school and sanitation facilities.
