Iona Lockhart (Helena Kolliou) was born in Athens, Greece. She studied English Literature at the University of Athens, and piano performance at the National Conservatory of Athens. She holds an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages). She has been teaching English in secondary education since 1999, and has worked as a teacher educator, too. She has been writing poetry – principally in English but also in her own native language – since 2011. “Scarlet Sealwax” is her first collection to be published. She has also been writing stories drawing on symbols and ideational patterns from Greek and world mythology and folklore. She is currently working on three new works.
