About

IT guy turned enabler in the life sciences. * Software developer, * PhD in CS (comp. neurosci), * data scientist (NGS and other fields), * founder TRI (imaging/analysis for bio samples). As a researcher, I've seen how know-how from outside your field can be a super power. As an AI person, I specialize in bottling know-how. As an engineer, I know the gap between knowing how to solve a problem and a practical solution. And as a business person, I know a solution becomes valuable the moment it's deployed where it solves a real problem. At TRI, we make imaging and image analysis practical and economical where it usually isn't: Using our VAIDR system, researchers and process engineers can develop tailored image analysis solutions within hours and deploy them at scale. VAIDR isn't just image analysis in principle: online, with your own images, or on-premise, with the automated VAIDR microscope, it is easy to build a fast and lightweight imaging solution that gives you actionable quantitative data for your samples. Using our SAIBR system, you can track the progress and health of your bioreactor live and continuously from inoculation to harvest. SAIBR isn't another probe in your crowded bioreactor. It doesn't draw samples. SAIBR images BR contents from the outside, analyzes the images and gives you the data you need to know that your production is on track. Experience

  • Founder at TRI Thinking Research Instruments GmbH
    Jul 2019 - Present · 7 yrs

Developed a system for making imaging and image analysis practical and economical where it isn't in biomedical research and production. Brought the system to market. Helping researchers and bioprocess engineers build tailored solutions for their image analysis needs.

  • Senior Data Scientist at Independent Consultant
    Jul 2018 - Jun 2019 · 1 yr

Worked in two projects, for half a year each: In retail data science, developing machine learning pipelines for decision support, and implementing them in a Google BigQuery/Google Kubernetes/Cassandra infrastructure, In biomedical engineering, analyzing Next Generation (Genome) Sequencing (NGS) data for a manufacturer of NGS systems.

  • Senior Data Scientist at EOS Group (EOS Holding)
    Oct 2016 - Jun 2018 · 1 yr 9 mos

Developed a platform for the training and application of machine learning models for automated decision making in debt collection on a small team of 3 people.

  • Senior Data Scientist at mgm technology partners GmbH
    Feb 2015 - Sep 2016 · 1 yr 8 mos

Worked as a data scientist for my employer's clients; most notably for a large car manufacturer, developing machine learning algorithms for the analysis of on-board sensor data for digital map augmentation on a team of ~4 people.

  • Software Engineer at mgm technology partners GmbH
