I currently work at the AXPO nuclear power plant in Beznau as Project Manager.
Project Management the Nuclear Power Plant
Working at the GT26 Program Team as PM for Gas Turbine Integration and Service Business Unit Interface (Product Support). It involves developing Service Upgrade Packages from concept to commissioning, RCA, CAPEX for tooling manufacturing, Fleet Service Technical Support during Outages and Upgrades.
Project Leeder of the Technology Transfer Project GTNMP with UGTC (China): transfer in-house SW and tools, organize training session and setup validation. Incident and problem management according to SLA. Management of all projects related financial planning and controlling, including service cost management of the SW development budget, collect SW specifications, manage external developers. Compressor Blade development environment integrated with commercial SW and Airfoil Database. Project was led from concept design to deployment applying TDD method. (O.O. Python2.7) Development Team 4 people.
Aerodynamic design of axial flow compressor for GT26 and GT36 gas turbines. Development of design methods and supervision of the integrated design system for compressor design. Development and maintenance of an SQL database for geometries and simulations results.
As project leader at the Competence Centre for Fluid-Mechanics and Hydro-Machinery at the HSLU T&A, I deal with different projects focused on the development of Turbomachineries. Many KTI-Projects (Kommission für Technologie und Innovation state-founded by Switzerland) and Consultancy to industrial companies are managed and technically supervised with the help of almost twenty researchers. The main research areas which I deal with are compressors and turbochargers design and performance simulation, as well as pumps and hydro-turbines. Most recently the cooling-systems and small-size compressors for refrigeration gasses has become part of the project’s portfolio.
Conduct hydraulic design calculations and analysis of fluid machinery components including impellers, casings, inlets and collectors. Develop computer programs, engineering methods and standards for design and analysis of fluid machinery, specifically pumps and turbines. Develop and validate concept designs, mainly the novel development of high-performance centrifugal pump with counter-rotating impellers with collaboration of Flowserve advanced technology centre, Vernon, CA. Carry out the development of inverse design method software for turbo-machinery which included C# based graphical user interface. Deploy and maintain a 192-core cluster for CFD simulations in addition to developing scripts for pre and post processes Carry out detailed design, construction and instrumentation layout of a water closed loop test rig with counter-rotating E-motors. Conduct high speed cavitation inception visualization, blade wake and performance tests Carry out numerical investigation and optimization on multiple full scale model pumps. Participate in various side-projects in partnership with VW, WILO and Miele as the lead designer of radial turbo-components.
Internship in Flowserve Advanced Technology Centre, Vernon, CA. Focus: Development of a new reduced-order Design Tool for Turbomachinery Fluid-dynamical Design
