As the Design Director for Absa Banking App, I'm dedicated to creating digital experiences that are truly accessible to all. My goal is to ensure that banking technology serves and empowers every user, regardless of their abilities. My background in UX, UX research, and design strategy, developed through roles at various companies, has shaped my approach to inclusive design. I believe that when we design for accessibility, we ultimately create better experiences for everyone. Driven by a passion for increasing diversity in tech, I founded She Can Do, an NPO focused on empowering women to start careers in UX/UI. As the Director of Girls Invent Tomorrow, I'm also working to inspire young girls to explore opportunities in STEM fields. I'm fortunate to have opportunities to speak about accessibility and inclusive design at industry events. These experiences allow me to learn from others and contribute to the ongoing conversation about creating a more inclusive digital world. My work is guided by two main objectives: 1. To promote accessibility and inclusive design in digital spaces. 2. To encourage the tech industry to adopt more inclusive hiring practices. I'm always interested in connecting with others who are passionate about accessibility, inclusive design, and diversity in tech. If you'd like to share ideas or discuss creating a more inclusive digital world, please feel free to reach out.
