Interested in creating increasingly self sustaining and resilient communities to mitigate the impacts of natural disasters and climate change through community buy in, business accountability and resiliency of infrastructure systems.
-Manages and oversees the Vanpool program and program Coordinator. -Supporting strategic planning for SRTS in the Bend-LaPine School District SRTS Program. - leading technical assistance in support of SRTS in Central, Southern and Eastern Oregon communities (ODOT Regions 4 & 5). -Leading OR Safe Routes to School communications, including coordinating logistics and content/speakers for monthly e-newsletter, regular social media posts, monthly SRTS practitioner webinars, diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) in transportation trainings, quarterly Statewide meetings, and special events. -Closely collaborates with other statewide Oregon Safe Routes to School (ORSRTS) Technical Assistance Providers (TAPs) as part of the program team. Led by Alta Planning + Design, the TAPs support and build capacity among the community of SRTS practitioners
Promote and market the vanpool program through outreach to employers and employees in the Commute Options service area to increase vanpool participation. Work closely with the local transit agency to secure funding for the vanpool program. Manage platforms, including websites, social media accounts, email and other dissemination tools. Additional responsibilities include publishing and promoting marketing, editorial, press release, and fundraising content/campaigns.
Lead Safe Routes programing for students K-12 including bike safety classes, kindergarten learn to ride and pedestrian safety. This included starting the first Kinder learn to ride program for the district. Managed program budget and created budget for future program goals. Applied for grants to help fund supplemental programs. Worked with City of Springfield on infrastructure improvement grants and construction projects surrounding school zones. Sat on the board of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) for the City of Springfield. Participated in state-wide Safe Routes meetings and events.
Taught 400 K-5 gardening and cooking lessons. Worked with school administrations, teachers, staff and volunteers on school garden expansion. Attended weekly meetings with the executive director and communications and evaluation director to create a cohesive message and branding for the organization. Managed social media. Worked closely with ED on applying for grants for school gardens. Prepared and distributed emergency meals to low income students with the Bellingham Central Kitchen. Developed seasonally focused, school classroom appropriate recipes for future cooking classes.
Contributed to Clackamas County Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan; researched hazard histories and compiled county demographic data in Excel. Wrote summary sections of data analysis for final document. Contributed to Madras, Oregon Parks Master Plan; Researched demographic, economic and housing statistics and conducted interviews of community stakeholders for a community profile as well as created coding scheme for analysis of survey data. Contributed to drafting of final document.
