Responsible for GCSE & A-Level Sociology and the Applied Diploma Level 3 in Criminology. Within this role, I support the Head of Department in the monitoring of student progress, line-managing members of staff, creating schemes of work and coordinating the production and delivery of relevant assessments. Alongside this role, I also teach Law & PSHE and am responsible for a Year 12 & 13 Tutor Group. For 3 years, I coordinated ‘Umbrella Club’ - an LGBTQ+ Support Group. This has allowed me to create and deliver assemblies on LGBTQ+ History Month, Pride Month and the IDAHOBIT as well as create whole school SMSC activities to be delivered during tutor time. I have also helped to deliver a student consultation where students from Year 7 to 13 were able to give feedback on how we could make the school a more inclusive place.
Responsible for Sociology GCSE & A-Level. This includes supporting staff with the delivery of the curriculum, monitoring student progress, planning & delivering intervention sessions, creating schemes of work & term plans, as well as attending subject lead and curriculum development groups.
Within this role, I teach Sociology GCSE & A-Level, the WJEC Criminology Diploma. I also have previous experience teaching Health & Social Care.
GCSE Sociology Examiner for the Summer Exam Series (2022 - present) on Paper 1 'Understanding Social Processes' & Paper 2 ‘Understanding Social Structures’ as well as Criminology Diploma examiner for Unit 4 'Crime & Punishment' (2024 - present). As part of this role, I have attended training sessions for each subject in which we discussed how to effectively mark each question and then moderated candidate responses to ensure each examiner was in tolerance.

Within this role, I was predominantly based within the two to three-year-old and the Pre-School rooms within the Nursery. My duties included greeting parents and children, leading activities, monitoring meal times and completing Care Diaries. This position improved my knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety and data protection. I have improved my communication, teamwork, initiative and problem-solving skills.
