PhD in AI & Machine Learning for Economics and Finance, with 36+ years of experience in economic statistics, intelligence, and data analysis across central banking, international standards, and applied research. Former Head of External Sector Statistics at the Central Bank of Lebanon, leading the compilation and analysis of the Balance of Payments (BoP) and International Investment Position (IIP), and advancing Lebanon’s external sector statistics in line with international best practices. I had the privilege of joining the IMF Balance of Payments Committee (BOPCOM), contributing to updates of the BPM6 framework and the preparation of the BPM7 release, and was also actively involved in the World Bank Remittances Project and the IMF Global Asymmetries initiative. My PhD research focuses on evolving Spiking Neural Networks, Neuro-Fuzzy Inference Systems, lifelong learning, and explainable AI for predictive modeling in economic and financial data. Conducted within the EUT+ Alliance, bridging brain-inspired AI, computational intelligence, and applied data science; published in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, I focus on research, teaching, and applied AI. I offer consulting and support to Balance of Payments compilers and analysts, as well as academic and research teams, on methodological issues, capacity building, and the application of AI-based tools to real-world economic and financial challenges.
