● Completed tasks as required by the Council Member ● Managed special projects and events for the Council Member ● Managed the office in the absence of the Council Member, including supervising the Council Office Associate, managing the workload and assisting the Council Office Associate with phones and mailings when necessary. ● Conducted research for the Council Member on committee and ward issues. Analyze data and prepare recommendations. ● Represented the Council Member at meetings in City Hall and in the ward. These meetings involve working evenings and weekends. ● Wrote letters, memos, reports and newsletters for the Council Member. ● Handled constituent concerns. Received inquiries and complaints by phone, in person and by mail, investigate solutions and follows up to insure all complaints are adequately handled.
● Developed systems to promote and support the provision of afterschool meals and snacks and summer enrichment programs connected to summer meal programs ● Increased participation among low-income children and families ● Identified critical gap communities by comparing the list of eligible communities with the list of participating programs ● Organized a variety of outreach events, such as open houses, based on analysis of what's most helpful ● Assisted afterschool/summer youth programs in overcoming barriers to participation ● Worked with afterschool/summer youth programs, community agencies, and government agencies to find solutions to specific and common problems
