About

Ida serves in the nonprofit sector as a psychotherapist and clinical leadership throughout Chicago communities since 2013. Additionally, she was the owner of Ida’s Sweet Tooth (2015-2022), an e-bakery inspired by her mother’s recipes and passion for creating comfort food. Ida was accepted onto Northwestern's Women's Educational Aid Association Board in 2015, where she served as Treasurer (2021-2025) and Mentor to a diverse and resilient group of students throughout their academic tenure; she transitioned to Associate Board Member in 2025. Ida was a Chicago Urban League IMPACT Fellow '21, and was a part of Compass Chicago's Nonprofit Board Diversification Taskforce during that fellowship. Ida received the prestigious 2021 Mental Health Impact Award from America’s Big Sisters Organization, and the 2022 Fetzer Excellence Award from Metropolitan Family Services. Following a brief career break in 2023 to begin her most fulfilling role as Mama, Ida transitioned to higher education to contribute to Pritzker School of Law as the Embedded Staff Therapist. In 2025, Tea & Therapy Chicago was created to serve Black Women and People of Color in their unique healing journeys.
