Managing a team of 4 people responsible for mid- to long-term optimisation production and pipeline network for hydrogen, carbon monoxide, oxygen, nitrogen and argon in the Benelux & Germany. Focusing on value generation by improving operational strategies, asset stewardship and sales optimisation. Supporting efficiency and business development projects. Responsible for assets stewardship of the Benelux hydrogen pipeline network as part of the newly established Energy Transition organisation. Building and keeping track of the supply-demand balances of low-carbon industrial gas products for Large Industries, Industrial Merchants and hydrogen mobility markets. Assessing the relative competitiveness of new sources (including electrolyzers) and developing asset integration plans.

- Responsible for optimising short- and long-term production of multiple product pools for Antwerp and Rotterdam refinery. Interface between trading, supply organisation and refinery operations to set product purchase and sales signals for distillates.
- Responsible for controlling and optimising short- and long-term inventory of heavy products pool for Antwerp and Rotterdam refinery. Interface between trading, supply organisation and refinery operations to set product purchase and sales signals for heavy products. - Ensured flawless inventory operation and flexibility for contingency scenarios during start-up of >1B$ resid upgrading project.
- Responsible for effective design and implementation of process control and optimisation strategies for various petrochemical processes. Recognised as site subject matter expert for online optimisation. - Led the integration of two online optimizers to enable a first refinery-wide optimisation, resulting in 1.5 M$/year additional earnings. Advocated to make this the key priority for site and US support team. Laid out, drove and aligned on the optimization strategy with all stakeholders across business units. Received internal ”Reward & Recognition” for this work. - Reduced OPEX & increased overall margin on two chemical plants (+2 M$/year across business units) by redesigning the respective controls schemes. Involved and empowered operators from the beginning in the design process. - Drove profitability and customer supply reliability improvement of gasoline blending from opportunity identification to program development using optimizer quality predictions. Coordinated with planning group and process engineering to set up monitoring process and demonstrated the potential to management.
