I lead Revenue Cycle Services at Veradigm — a $70M+ business unit managing revenue cycle operations for 750+ healthcare organizations and processing more than $4.2B in annual client payments. My path here is unusual: two decades as a healthcare technologist — CIO, VP of Technology, co-founder of a revenue cycle analytics company — before taking over a P&L. That background shapes how I run the business. I believe the next era of revenue cycle performance belongs to operators who treat automation and AI as core operating infrastructure, not bolt-ons. We've built that conviction into how RCS delivers: 98% first-pass clean claims, measurable A/R reduction, and service models that flex from advisory to full outsourcing. I'm equally committed to what that performance protects: the ability of independent practices to stay independent. Revenue cycle is hard to run alone, and too many practices sell because of it. Strong RCM partnership is one of the few real counterweights. I write and speak about RCM automation, denials prevention, and the economics of independent practice. If those topics matter to you, let's connect.
P&L owner for Veradigm Revenue Cycle Services, a $70M+ business unit serving 750+ healthcare organizations across multiple service lines and processing $4.2B+ in annual client payments. I direct operations, account management, and client services, with a focus on intelligent automation, data-driven performance management, and new service offerings — including a growing RCM advisory practice. Results include industry-leading first-pass clean claims rates and sustained client revenue improvement.
I aligned technology strategy with business objectives while managing financial systems hosting environment supporting over 20,000 end-users across 600 health systems nationwide, representing more than $4B in customer revenue. I directed intelligent automation and AI-focused development teams, overseeing innovation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, I was a key driver of strategic M&A integration efforts, ensuring seamless technology consolidation and value realization for acquired business units.
I led digital transformation initiatives while positioning the company for strategic acquisition. I directed a team of 30 onshore and offshore staff managing an enterprise EHR/PM hosting and RCM environment serving 450 healthcare organizations nationwide, representing 11,000 physicians. Key accomplishments include developing a White Glove customer service model that achieved 98% customer satisfaction, supporting 40% customer growth through M&A integration, and implementing technological modernization across multiple systems. I oversaw critical infrastructure upgrades, deployed a new PBX system following years of stalled efforts, and established a successful offshore resource integration program. My approach focused on cross-functional collaboration and client relationships to drive revenue optimization and operational efficiency.
After Ambient Health Intelligence Solutions was purchased by MediGain, I was brought in to steer the IT and BI efforts to improve the RCM process for clients. I am a firm believer that not everything has to be developed in-house. I would rather dedicate internal resources to what they do best and partner with a third-party vendor that specializes in areas that are not our strengths. This was the case when I sought out a solution to increase our analysis efficiency with our BI tool. Partnering with GoodData allowed us to integrate 21 practice management systems into a single solution and eliminated a tedious error-prone process that required attention from 20 FTEs. For this project we won the Nucleus Research Annual Technology ROI Award for achieving an ROI of more than 1,000% and an annual benefit of just under a million dollars. This partnership also allowed us to keep pace with our growth and avoid the cost of new hires. As a member of the executive leadership team, I worked with senior management to solve strategic issues, like this one, and meet overall corporate goals. In addition to serving on the executive team, I served as Acting HIPAA Security Officer improving compliance and managing requirements for third-party security audits. I am most proud of the diversity of deliverables my team and I were able to meet that affected the entire organization. With a small distributed, offshore and onshore, team it was a challenge I enjoyed conquering. I cofounded this organization with the intent to create an analytics platform that would provide financial and quality BI systems for the healthcare industry. I led the development of this first-of-its-kind revenue cycle analytics platform that delivered insights into financial performance and opportunities to maximize revenue and profitability. Being at the helm of this organization allowed me to gain hands-on experience in business development, operations and customer support. In 2011, we prepared the company for sale so I experienced the perspective of a seller in the M&A process – everything from the company valuation to negotiation and due diligence to post-acquisition integration. My journey at QVL actually started when I was a Senior Application Developer at MedEx. Through a series of acquisitions and rapid promotions I ended my tenure as Vice President of Technology, reporting directly to the CEO. I co-developed one of the first e-prescribing applications and built out the solution into a new business unit that became recognized as one of the first certified e-prescribing companies nationwide. Pharmacies could use this product to build their physician relationships and facilitate compliance tracking. The e-prescribing software was so cutting edge at the time, I became the subject matter expert and often asked to consult with the senior leadership team about how to best leverage the product and meet overall strategic goals. As the scope of my responsibilities increased I introduced innovations to support mobile pharmacy access, disaster recovery solutions and pharmacy pricing models. Later on I earned recognition from the CEO for an exceptionally smooth transition when converting recently acquired independent pharmacies into a single, consolidated pharmacy management system. It was being a key member of the executive leadership team that prepared me for the role I play today as a business-oriented technologist who is known for aligning resources to “get things done” and achieve meaningful results.
