With 80ha of prime development land and 3km of deep-water berths close to the mouth of the river Tyne, it is an ideal base for offshore wind manufacturing, construction marshalling and operations and maintenance activities. Commercial Director responsibilities included: • Setting the port’s strategic direction to support long-term growth in the renewable energy sector. • Providing guidance to the board on strategic offshore wind investment strategies to ensure profitable growth and maximise returns on the port’s multi-million-pound infrastructure investments. • Leading business development activities for all new offshore wind construction marshalling, manufacturing, and operations & maintenance opportunities. • Building collaborative partnerships between public and private sector off-takers and green hydrogen / methanol producers, to establish a commercially viable supply-demand chain. • Mentoring and supporting the career development of the Commercial Team's graduates and commercial coordinator staff.
