Greater Grenoble Metropolitan Area
On the 15th of December I transferred from Logica to ST, in the Automation and Process Control team of the Crolles 300mm CIM organisation.
Working on development and implementation of automation solutions in the 300mm fab of ST, Crolles. Present duties include configuration of the CamLine Recipe Management System to correctly decode and compare recipes.
Working with Logica on Automation at the ST Microelectronics site in Crolles, France. Getting to know SECS/GEM, StationWorks, iAutomate etc, and reacquainting myself with the world of the 300Works MES.
At Qimonda I was Capability Owner for three aspects of the MES - Experiment Management, Reticle Management and Lot Shipment. I was also responsible (as caretaker) for electronic wafermap conversion for external customers. This role was effectively that of a business analyst, where I was responsible for the entire space between the customers at one end and the developers at the other. The work therefore involved requirements engineering, software design, test case development and management, and communication with all involved parties. My main customers were in the US and in Asia, but I also needed to work closely with my local colleagues who were responsible for other parts of the system. The MES that we used was Fab300 from Applied Materials, one of the two main 300mm MES systems. ClearCase and Rational Rose were used for code management and design. This job came to an end with the insolvency of Qimonda, a victim of the madness of the DRAM market in 2008.
This was the period from the formation of Freescale as an independent company until their departure from the Crolles Alliance. During this time I had a dual role, on the one hand to represent Freescale's interests at the Crolles site and on the other to perform my Alliance duties. My Freescale responsibilities included assuring general connectivity for Freescale employees back to the Freescale network, running the Crolles side of the project to install the Freescale MES in the Crolles Freescale Probe area, and last but not least as one of only two Freescale IT representatives in Crolles 2 CIM team the gathering of knowledge about the MES and 300mm and sharing that with Freescale colleagues at other sites.
