Norwich, England, United Kingdom
A seasoned professional with a distinguished career spanning the public, private and third sectors, I have accumulated extensive experience in the management and support of highly vulnerable people, strategic client relationship management and specialist training delivery My career commenced in direct frontline roles supporting homeless individuals and vulnerable adults/children, providing a rigorous foundation in safeguarding, risk assessment and person-centred practice. I subsequently progressed into a management position within a local authority children's home, leading the care of some of the United Kingdom's most vulnerable and traumatised young people, before advancing to the management team of a local authority secure children's home, where I was responsible for the welfare and rehabilitation of vulnerable young offenders. Here I first became involved in FM, Security Management and H & S roles In parallel, I established a strong reputation as an accomplished trainer, delivering programmes in health and safety, conflict management, personal safety, and the management of violence and aggression, equipping frontline professionals across high-risk environments with the competencies required to operate safely and effectively Transitioning into the private sector, I served as a Client Relations Manager for a specialist recruitment and training organisation, developing and maintaining strategic partnerships across the education, health, housing, leisure and social care sectors. This role reinforced my ability to align service delivery with organisational need at both an operational and strategic level. I became an expert trainer in conflict resolution, self defence, control & restraint, health & safety and human rights legislation Following an extended period abroad, I returned to professional practice with the Department for Work and Pensions specialising in the support and training of individuals experiencing mental health difficulties and suicide ideation, an area that remains central to my professional/personal ethics Subsequent roles within the mental health and suicide prevention charity sector have further deepened this expertise. I currently contribute to operations at Ellipsis Business Solutions, applying a breadth of cross-sector experience in a professional support capacity. As a small business there is always an element of "Jack of all trades" but my eclectic working life allows me to readily adapt to fast changing settings. I could spend a whole day doing social media marketing or another day proof reading a clients tender

For the last few years I have been working in the field of #SuicidePrevention & #MentalHealth. The experience has been amazing & I think I have achieved some good outcomes at times both in my home town of #Warrington & nationally I have met some amazing people, who have had a truly life changing impact on me. Hopefully, I will remain in contact with many of them, & I know my passion to help save lives will remain. I am so grateful to these people for the support & education they gave me However, an amazing opportunity arose to work with Yvonne Raleigh 🇺🇦 BEng CEng MICE, The CEO of Ellipsis Funding Solutions Ltd. My new role is that of Client Service Manager & will bring me into contact with a more diverse range of Charities, Community Interest Companies & other Social Enterprises Yvonne writes this of Ellipsis: “Charities & social enterprises need vital funds now more than ever. I have had the pleasure of working with amazing causes & projects over my career & want to expand my reach & help you too. Having gained substantial funds & success in the construction & aviation industries through successful bid writing, we want to extend our team’s reach to the charitable & voluntary sector too.” Yvonne Raleigh, Ellipsis Funding Solutions CEO. Having worked in The Third Sector for many years I have seen the challenge that organisations have to keep sustaining themselves. Founders, Directors & other staff from amazing organisations which often help people survive & thrive in our local communities are often too busy with being, "Hands on" to find or bid for the pockets of funding that will keep them viable. My job will be to help those people identify medium to long term funding opportunities for their organisations. With Yvonne's wider team we will be ensuring organisations, both large & small are both compliant & bid ready. We will help match organisations with appropriate funding streams that they may have been unaware of.
My role at Get Warrington Talking is to ensure that through local events, networking, campaigns, and conversations I create a culture of knowledge and understanding around mental health, mental illness, and suicide prevention for the people of Warrington. I network and build connections across Public, Private and Third Sector Organisations that leaves them feeling comfortable talking about matters relating to suicide and its prevention. I also enable those same organisations and wider members of the community the opportunity to explore issues relating to mental health and mental illness. I break down stigma by creating opportunities for individuals with lived experiences of overcoming mental health challenges or coping with mental illness to share their stories. The power of storytelling can truly help save lives in the first instance but then it can also help people thrive. Often, I used innovative ways of engaging with people and look to use big and small events to create a "noise” around mental health/suicide prevention which brings the community together.
