About

With 30 years in law enforcement and investigative roles across policing, financial crime, and the private sector, I bring a rare combination of frontline operational experience, complex case leadership, and cross-sector credibility. Currently, I’m a leader with Police Scotland’s Firearms and Explosives Licensing Team — responsible for the lawful regulation of firearms, shotguns, air weapons, and explosives across Scotland. My role combines people leadership, high-stakes risk assessment, legislative compliance, and quality assurance of complex enquiry reports. I am accountable for recommendations on the grant, renewal, and revocation of certificates, and I am committed to the professional development of the staff I supervise. Before returning to Police Scotland, I worked as an Associate Investigator at JP Morgan Chase Bank, where I investigated and reported on complex financial crime — demonstrating that the investigative skills developed in policing translate directly into the demands of a global financial institution. My broader career spans senior roles in digital forensics, financial investigation, internal corruption enquiries, cybercrime, and high-stakes incident command. I have worked collaboratively with diverse agencies and partners both across the UK and internationally, and have extensive experience drafting complex legal files and delivering training to develop others. Key areas of expertise: → Team Leadership & Supervisory Development → Firearms & Explosives Licensing (Scotland) → Complex Investigations — Financial, Digital & Criminal → Regulatory Compliance & Risk Assessment → Digital Forensics & Cybercrime → Internal Corruption & Integrity Investigations → Legal File Preparation & Quality Assurance → Multi-Agency & International Collaboration
