CARICO MASSIMO is a cultural association that deals with art research and production. It's based in the port of Livorno, and on air. Founded in 2012 in the ex general warehouse of the port of Livorno as a place where different artistic economies could meet and experiment, CARICO MASSIMO produces art from different materials speeds and temperatures.
I have presented my work internationally, in both institutional and independent contexts. My practice revolves around signs, traces and revelations concealed within the everyday customs of human cultivation. By making use of performative quests, language disjoinments, non-ordinary states of consciousness, hijacked conversations, charting of the subtle, I seek to transmute worldly actions into vehicles for novelty readings of reality. Through persistent field research, often engaging with temporary or permanent communities, I try to challenge the role of my own work. Selected participations: Liverpool Biennial (Liverpool); SOMA, Biquini Wax, Ex Teresa (Mexico City); Viafarini/DOCVA, Carrozzeria Margot (Milan); Fondazione Morra (Naples); Lac O Le Mon (Lecce); MIAMI (Bogotà); dOCUMENTA (13) (Kassel); Biennale di Venezia, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa (Venice); Fondazione Ratti (Como); Castello di Rivoli, Cripta747, PAV (Turin).
