Leveraged various machine learning models and frameworks within the recommendation domain to enhance business impact and elevate the shopping experience for over 10 million monthly active users on ABLY. - General-purpose Product Title-Query Embedding Model Developed a general-purpose embedding model using an SBERT-based architecture with InfoNCE loss (CLIP-inspired) to embed millions of product titles and user-generated queries into a shared embedding space. - Generative AI Infrastructure Designed and built ML backend architecture for ABLY's Gen-AI services, supporting scalable deployment of generative models. - Vector Database Implementation Implemented a vector search platform using Milvus and Elasticsearch. - Visual Product Curation Pipeline Developed a model to recommend visually coordinated products based on the currently viewed product, improving product discovery and enhancing user shopping experience. - Scalable Image Processing Pipeline Developed a distributed image batch processing pipeline using Apache Spark and Ray Clusters, capable of handling over 100 million images and tens of terabytes of data, reducing costs and ensuring reliability. - Enhanced Ray Cluster Infrastructure Improved Ray Cluster stability and efficiency by migrating from AWS EC2 to Kubernetes (KubeRay and RayJob), with task orchestration via Airflow. - Cross-selling Recommendation Models Built complementary product recommendation systems, enhancing cross-category product discovery. - Personalization for New Users Developed cold-start recommendation models to boost initial user retention and conversion.
