Dr. Hyeokkoo Eric Kwon (권혁구, 權赫九) is Provost's Chair Professor in Information Systems at Nanyang Business School (NBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He is the youngest academic to be appointed to the chair professorship. He is the Director of Nanyang Fellows MBA and Double Degree in Business and Computing. He is also a Senator of NTU, representing the Academic Council in the University Senate, and previously served on the Senate Committee on Research & Innovation. He currently serves as Associate Editor (AE) for Information Systems Research (ISR), and Decision Sciences. His research interests span mobile analytics for FinTech, digital healthcare, AdTech, and digital platforms, and extend to broader domains of AI and digital innovation. He has worked closely with leading companies across a wide range of industries, including serving as an advisor to Kyobo Life Insurance, Nexon Korea, and AB180, where he provides strategic guidance on AI-enabled digital transformation through expertise in analytics, experimentation, and evidence-based management. He also served as an advisor to TBZ Partners, a Google-partnered deep-tech startup accelerator in Korea, helping foster connections between the innovation ecosystems of Singapore and Korea. Building upon these industry-academic partnerships, he has published in leading journals, including Marketing Science, Information Systems Research (ISR), Management Information Systems Quarterly (MISQ), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of Operations Management (JOM), Production and Operations Management (POM), and npj Digital Medicine. He has received the INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Gordon B. Davis Young Scholar Award and the Association of Information Systems (AIS) Early Career Award, the two most prestigious accolades for emerging scholars in the Information Systems field. Additionally, he won the Nanyang Research Award, the university’s highest recognition for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to extending the frontiers of knowledge. He was also invited to the 7th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting on Economic Sciences as one of the 300 most qualified young economists worldwide, engaging in scientific exchanges with eighteen Nobel Laureates in Economics. His academic achievements are further augmented by a series of research excellence and best paper award. Furthermore, his dedication to teaching has been equally acknowledged with multiple accolades, including teaching excellence awards and the Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award.
