I’m a first year medical student at UCL, passionate about medicine, teaching, driving change and widening participation. I have a strong interest in surgery and acute medicine, as well as evidence based research. I’ve actively contributed to Widening Participation Initiatives, in particular when supporting students applying to study medicine/dentistry. - Lead initiatives aimed at increasing access to medicine for students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds. - Design and deliver outreach programmes that provide guidance, mentorship, and support to prospective medical students throughout the application process. - Advocate for and support students from BAME communities, helping to address barriers and challenges encountered during their medical school journeys. - Collaborate with Medical Society subcommittees and external organisations to expand the reach and impact of widening participation initiatives. - Develop partnerships with student-led outreach groups, local schools, and universities to create sustainable and collaborative programmes. - Organise workshops, panel events, and application support sessions covering areas such as personal statements, admissions tests, interviews, and life at medical school.
