Hui Su manages CISL - the research collaboration between IBM Research and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. CISL is building the intelligent human-scale interactive spaces for humans to collaborate with Artificial Intelligence (AI), i.e., the next generation Cognitive and Immersive Situations Room to augment group intelligence, such as Cognitive Boardroom to augment group intelligence in decision-making, Cognitive and Immersive Classroom for better learning outcome for students etc. Research at CISL involves multiple disciplines, including Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Computing Systems and Engineering, Arts, Media, Communication and Healthcare. CISL is located at The Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center. The information about the lab can be found in the following link: http://cisl.rpi.edu/.
Hui Su was the director of IBM Research Lab in Cambridge, MA., in 2012-2015, responsible for a broad scope of global missions in IBM Research, including Cognitive User Experience, Center for Innovation in Visual Analytics and Center for Social Business. I have more than 20 years’ experience in IBM Research. You can find the information about me in IBM in the following link: http://researcher.ibm.com/researcher/view.php?person=us-huisuibmres.
I led a research department with ~100 researchers, this department contributed technical innovations to cloud platform business in IBM, Internet of Things platform and services, human computer interaction (natural language processing and speech) technologies, and healthcare solutions.
Led research teams in Watson Research Center to develop business service cloud platform, enabled shared services for municipalities on the platform through collaboration with NY municipalities
I led Next Generation Service Research Group, focusing on cloud computing platform, software-as-a-service, web security & trust technology, web-delivered service programming and composition etc. I created and led Human Computer Interaction research team in China Research Lab to do research work around multimodal interaction, handwriting recognition, input method, social collaboration, autonomic computing. These work enabled and contributed to a few IBM Products
