Collaborating research activities with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affaires (OMAFRA) to advance sensor-based digital soil mapping by prioritizing proximal sensor technologies, applying and developing filtering approaches to improve sensor data quality, comparing and researching approaches in spatial interpolation, and consolidating calibration sampling strategies to improve prediction quality.
Leveraging geospatial data in precision farming through integrating multi-sources sensor data determine cost-effective soil sampling strategies, developing stochastic algorithms for sensor-based in-season nitrogen optimization, implementing multi-sensor platform for soil properties prediction, testing drone based multispectral imagery for nutrient management, and designing geo-spatial based economic assessment application for precision irrigation control system. Coordinating and supporting GIS/RS educational programs, presenting research results in conferences, organizing workshops on precision technologies, and partnering with multidisciplinary research stakeholders.
