I have over 25 years experience in animal nutrition and agribusiness. Currently I consult to dairy farmers, optimising farm systems to improve profitability and environmental sustainability. Most clients are referrals from bankers and accountants. While team leader with DairyNZ and consultant with FarmRight, I received a solid grounding in pasture based dairying in NZ. Previously as GM and nutritionist with Rumentech, I developed a successful range of products for different species, forming strategic alliances and a joint venture with Meadow Feeds to market the products. Starting a feed mill from scratch was a test of entrepreneurial ability and project management. As nutritionist with Kynoch Feeds I provided technical support and training to the sales team, promoting sales through applying latest research resulting in practical on-farm solutions. I have been fortunate to work with different dairy farm systems in a number of countries, from grass based to TMR diets in free stall housed systems, while dealing with people from different cultures. Besides core technical and financial competencies through formal university training, I have developed the ability to promote team work and manage conflict resolution. I am passionate about agribusiness and growing food to feed the world , while not compromising ethical standards in animal welfare or environmental sustainability.
