“What is your name? Do you know where you are? Do you know what has happened?”— These are the questions I asked the patients I spent the most time caring for, during my early career, as I obtained the necessary experience and established the best foundation for my career as a clinician-scientist. With that said, allow me to introduce myself with the very questions that I have asked countless patients. What is your name? My name is Hope Didier, and I look forward to exploring human health beyond the bench and translating my discoveries into novel medicines, procedures, and policies that can be used at a patient's bedside. Do you know where you are? At Wake Forest University, I am pursuing a PhD in Molecular Medicine and Translational Science and a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Do you know what has happened? I do not know what will happen, but I acknowledge the responsibility I have to build relationships with professionals across disciplines to carry research forward and advocate for my future patients. I am certain that my work ethic, involvement in research, and clinical experiences thus far meaningfully pair with my commitment to becoming a physician assistant and proponent of translational research efforts with a PhD in Molecular Medicine & Translational Science.
