SUMMARY: Effective leader of education, environmental and research programs with more than 20 years of non-profit management experience. Association/society manager with a collaborative approach to finding effective strategies to develop education events, manage and member committees and develop new member programs. Seeking a position where I can use my skills to work with colleagues, subject matter experts, faculty, and member leaders to design and implement educational programming including in-person meetings, virtual and hybrid courses, enduring on-demand content and webinars.
Served as account executive for the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology as committee liaison, education manager and communications/social media lead. • Managed the development of the scientific program for the annual meeting of two medical/scientific societies, including online abstract and session proposal processes, abstract review process, session scheduling and speaker management. • Managed continuing education process for members with accreditation sponsor. This involved completing all paperwork, collecting speaker disclosure materials and learning objectives for presentations, calculating presentation CE/CME hours and creating a post-meeting survey process for attendees to claim their credits and certificate. • Worked with program planning committees to develop educational content, and a process for conducting continuing education courses. • Served as the staff lead for technology vendors to deliver user-friendly and high-performing platforms for our educational offerings including conference microsite and app, online education repository and webinars. • Supported the digital/virtual elements of the Annual Meeting and other in-person meetings throughout the planning process and delivery. • Served as staff liaison to member committees which includes overall committee management, scheduling meetings, developing, and distributing meeting materials, participating in committee meetings, and documenting minutes and action items. • Conducted marketing and communications of educational programming and other society activities. This included email blasts, website updates, social media posts and developing graphics to enhance outreach.
Responsible for leading, managing and guiding AWO’s effort to promote continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance throughout the tugboat, towboat, and barge industry. • Act as the intellectual leader and proactive advocate of safety and environmental performance for the tugboat, towboat and barge industry • Manage the Responsible Carrier Program (RCP), a Safety Management System for the tugboat, towboat and barge industry • Lead, manage and guide the successful transition of AWO members from compliance with the voluntary industry standard of the RCP to the regulatory standard of Subchapter M • Lead the work of AWO’s safety committees, the RCP Standards Board and the national and regional components of the United States Coast Guard-AWO Safety Partnership to ensure a cohesive program focused on the industry’s safety and environmental performance goals • Lead implementation of the AWO Voluntary Safety Statistics Program enabling AWO members to track and report safety performance to promote continuous improvement.
