- Responsible for overall technology development strategy of powertrain systems in China, managing a 240-member business unit. - Defined and executed key supplier strategies for traction batteries and e-drive systems. - Led the concept development of battery modules & components to fit the Chinese cost-competitive market. - Led the product development lifecycle from concept design to the final product realization of powertrain platforms as CMP and CSP and innovation projects regarding battery swapping vehicle, hyper charging vehicle and related equipment. - Led the planning & design of the methodology blueprint and specified for the battery safety laboratory, the charging park, HIL testing lab, and all related release testing equipment. Set up the procedures of sample tests, and trained key engineers. Trained the local people with essential skills to fulfill the VW requirements needed. Achievements: - Initiated and built-up the first battery safety laboratory in Volkswagen Group, a comprehensive charging infrastructure park, and a complete HIL testing and integration center for modules. - Established VW Powertrain platforms CMP and CSP and shortened the development time down to 25 months for CMP, and for CSP, lowered development cost significantly. - Led the design of new concepts contributing to a 40% cost reduction on the overall powertrain including high voltage battery and e-drive system.
- Responsible for the overall powertrain and battery development strategy of the first VW startup in China. - Pioneered the establishment of new branch: VWA. Successfully developed and released the powertrain on the first vehicle exported to Europe. - Set up the technical infrastructure and trained a new team of 8 people from the ground up - Defined and executed key supplier strategies for traction batteries and e-drive systems - Set up of the Chassis department from scratch - Contributed significantly to the fulfillment of “In China for China” strategy of Volkswagen China, with entirely local development and release responsibility. Achievements: - Built up a 160-member business unit launching the first vehicles of VWA exported to Europe - Achieved 40% cost decrease, 30% increase in efficiency. - Set major cost and quality benchmarks for the new platforms China Main (CMP) and China Scalable Platform (CSP), significantly reduced the development time of the platforms from 36 to 24 months. - Led the new team to pass the official NPP audit within 1.5 years from Chinese government

MEB and MQB cell modules - Initiated and established HV battery performance simulation and second-source strategies for China - Managed a department of 14 members, and ca. 80 external contractors for global R&D
