Hoan Do is a committed advocate for environmental sustainability and social equity with expertise in energy development, climate justice, and corporate accountability. With a background in strategic campaign planning, community-based project management, and policy advocacy, Hoan has consistently promoted equitable development in Southeast Asia and globally. His experience spans field research on environmental and social impacts, capacity building for communities affected by large-scale development projects, and facilitating solutions for renewable energy adoption, particularly in underserved and marginalized areas.
- Co-designed and delivered participatory activities to capture key learning insights and assess the impact of flexible funding for youth-led climate initiatives in South East-Asia. - Facilitated multi-phase reflection sessions (online and in-person), gathered fellows’ feedback and stories, and synthesized findings to inform funders and partners on how to strengthen trust-based, adaptive grantmaking.
- Led and coordinated training programs on corporate due diligence, accountability, and environmental and social compliance laws, empowering grassroots communities in the Greater Mekong subregion affected by large-scale development projects. - Conducted comprehensive field research to assess the environmental and social impacts of transportation and energy projects, providing evidence for affected communities to advocate for fair remedies, compensation, and legal strategies. - Designed and facilitated training curricula on climate justice, environmental impact assessments, and sustainable energy development, enhancing the capacity of EarthRights’ partners to tackle critical environmental challenges
- Support to refine and share globally the core curriculum of the EarthRights School – a school for environmental and human rights activists in the Mekong region; - Organize Global Learning Exchanges to bring together various global community activist and campaigning organizations from around the world; - Play a role as Alumni Liaison to connect the network of hundreds of EarthRights School alumni with the global EarthRights network of environmental and human rights activists.
