I have been involved in learning and development since 1995, and my focus is on developing the capability of people and businesses through providing the appropriate support and guidance, then motivating individuals and teams to fulfil their potential. ALE are a UK based organisation that specialise in the lifting and transportation of abnormal and heavy loads, typically from 100 tonnes up to 50,000 tonnnes. Their capability lies in the skills and expertise of their engineers and project managers, and in the last 10 years they have experienced significant international growth. ALE are now represented in 30 countries worldwide. My role includes: The development of a Learning and Development strategy which can be implemented globally Identifying and developing talent within the organisation, and mapping it against current and future business requirements The design and launch of an attraction strategy to potential new recruits, including the establishment of an employee value proposition / using direct sourcing specifically through web and social media / development of a talent bank The establishment of a graduate programme to meet the future needs of the business across each of its 5 regions
Responsibility for 3 teams in HR: Learning & Development - a team of 10, responsible for design and delivery of classroom, multimedia and 1-1 sessions covering functional skills, leadership and HR programmes. Recruitment - a team of 3, responsible for fulfilment of resourcing strategy in the business. The objective: fulfil 200 vacancies per month via direct sourcing, and build a talent bank for key job roles. Recognition and Reward - a team of 3, responsible for design and implementation of pay and reward strategy across 5 separate entities, alongside development of tools to measure and communicate engagement across 9000 employees.
