I’m a Chemical Engineering undergraduate at the National University of Singapore with hands-on experience across the pharmaceutical and energy sectors. I’m driven by curiosity, a builder’s mindset, and a desire to solve real-world problems through engineering, systems thinking, and continuous improvement. I’m also keen to explore emerging areas such as hydrogen energy and carbon capture technologies. Currently at ExxonMobil, I expanded my experience on the process engineering side analyzing plant data for benchmarking purposes, supporting optimization studies of nitrogen consumption, and contributing cost saving opportunities with the plan. During my internship at Novartis, I worked as an Equipment Engineer, supporting manufacturing operations and reliability initiatives. I gained exposure to asset management, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration in a highly regulated environment and contributed to improving insulation practices within the plant. Outside of school and work, I enjoy building and experimenting. Most notably by launching a home-based kombucha brewing business, where I developed recipes, ran small‑batch production, and managed customer engagement end-to-end. It taught me the realities of entrepreneurship, product iteration, and creating products people love. I’m also an endurance enthusiast who has completed three marathons, and an avid reader who draws inspiration from science, psychology, business, and narrative nonfiction. Running and reading revitalize my mind and help me perform at my highest level. I’m always excited to connect with people who share interests in chemical engineering, operations, sustainability, biotech, and innovative problem-solving.
- Optimised nitrogen consumption to the C5 spherical storage tank, reducing flaring and generating an estimated US$650–950k in annual savings to reduce operational cost exposure and improve economic efficiency - Leveraged Pegasys to correlate valve positions with nitrogen flow rates to tankage, while assessing pipeline and fitting frictional losses to support cavitation prevention via NPSHA analysis. - Performed Pro II simulations to predict temperature decline during system pressure dips, mitigating brittle fracture and flare backflow risks in accordance with SAR2 Dyke 7 HAZOP findings. - Built a Seeq-based benchmarking tool to optimise nitrogen supply across key process blocks, identifying and sustaining best-ever operating conditions. - Partnered with process block owners to identify KEVs (Key Energy Variables) and KMVs (Key Margin Variables) , integrating them into a unified dashboard to align teams and drive the achievement of new optimal operating points.
