Hillebrand Gori is the global leading solutions provider in forwarding, transport and logistics of wine, spirits, beer and adjacent products. After acquisition by DHL alongside business as usual activities, responsible for the finance workstream in the post-merger integration of Hillebrand, Gori and DHL Wine & Spirits business, creating a global BWS power house. Meanwhile integrating Hillebrand into DPDHL corporate structure and supporting carve out of Ocean Bulk.
Within Hillebrand, in a private equity setting, managing a team of 14 FTE in Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, responsible for all finance activities across the group incl. tax. Successfully managed the finance, tax and legal post-merger integration of Braid, a bulk logistics company acquired in October 2020 with appr. 200m of revenue in 19 countries. During the successful sales process in 2021 responsible for finance as well as tax work stream.
Ammega, the combination of Ammeraal Beltech and Megadyne, is the global leader in production, fabrication and service of lightweight process and conveyor, and industrial power transmission belting. The company has a total revenue of approximately 800 million, over 5,000 employees, more than 25 manufacturing facilities and over 100 commercial/ service entities in 40 countries, and a network of distributors around the world. In private equity setting, together with a team of 7 FTE responsible for all finance related activities across the group including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, working capital management, further digitalization of the finance function (Basware, master data, new consolidation tool) and development of the future state finance organisation.
Finance business partner of Regional President EMEA with responsibility for finance and accounting across 35 operating units within Europe, Middle East and Africa with total revenue of over 400 million. Responsibilities include coaching and development of the finance team, integration and streamlining of operations, review and analysis of regional and local performance and teams, and implementation of uniform policies and procedures.
Set up of FP&A function within private equity-owned company, including streamlining of management reporting, budget and reforecast process, working capital management with global implementation of a credit management tool. Development and implementation of an enterprise data warehouse for detailed sales and margin analysis, and, following the merger, the implementation of IBM Planning Analytics for integrated group reporting of the combined entities of Ammeraal Beltech and Megadyne. During the exit process in the first half of 2018, I was responsible for all finance related input and analysis.
Responsible for the definition, set up and recruiting of a new Centre of Expertise for Sales & Revenue of 12 FTE based in both Amsterdam and Philadelphia to support the redefined financial Business Decision Support organisation. This includes the centralisation of activities from business unit finance departments, while driving process standardisation and improvements. I have led the implementation of Hyperion Planning for sales and revenue planning, budgeting and forecasting across Elsevier and delivered significant enhancements and increase of data captured in Sales Data Warehouse to ~90% of total Elsevier sales.
Key support and back up to the Global Sales Finance Director as well as decision support for the EVP Global Sales and VP Business Development. Responsible for managing a central team of 4 FTE with end responsibility for monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business analysis of over 2 billion of annual recurring revenue from online subscriptions to scientific content and related costs, functional management of Sales Finance and Management Information Systems and ad hoc analysis. Over the past two years I have rolled out structurally improved financial analysis and forecasting tools as well as realised improved quality and more in-depth insights into Sales actuals as well as forecasting; deployed and further increased functionality of a Sales Data Warehouse (OBIEE).
Leading and participating in numerous short and longer-term projects, including cash flow forecasting, revenue and cost allocation, pricing, financial model and returns provision for books, international cost recharges, and bonus calculations and target setting process. July 2010 – December 2011 – Management Information System Project Developed a Management Information System (MIS) Strategy and Roadmap that will deliver an integrated enterprise wide MIS for Elsevier. This included the development of a conceptual data model and start of the implementation with development of a Blueprint system based on business requirements gathered through the strategy development phase. January 2009 – July 2011 – Finance Director HR Transformation Project Delivering business control for implementation of a multi-year global HR Transformation Project, including implementation of a single PeopleSoft instance across Reed Elsevier. Development of a financial business case and cross-divisional recharge model, regular financial reforecast and performance tracking as well as cost control. June 2008 – January 2009 – Business Controller for ‘Marketing & End Users’ Delivering monthly results and financial control as well as development of budget and reforecast information and closing down the business unit at the end of 2009.

Over the years I have been working on several projects within the financial accounting area, the transfer of assets from the N.V. part of the group to the PLC part of the group, outsourcing of day-to-day finance activities to IBM (including implementation of a workflow tool for invoices and a new expense claim system), improvement of the group financial reporting of parent & holding and numerous tax restructuring initiatives.
