HBD was created to share the ‘best/quality’ strategy resources, communities and expert opinions discovered online. You can find the relevant tier/level of strategy resources in the ‘Experience Section’ – more will be added over time. Why HBD? // It’s been created for several reasons: 1. My love of strategy 2. C19 completely screwed my career. I’m hoping this offers others an alternate route should they face the same path. 3. Retrained, moved into a full-time strategy role and now passing the baton. For long I pursued a career in a certain creative marketing discipline which had been railroaded by C19. This narrow specialist focus saw me fighting a mighty uphill battle and having to venture into Terra Incognita. This, I believe, is the core tenet of a strategist. To explore, persevere, discover, map and interpret unknown territories. Medieval cartographers labelled the farthest, most dangerous and unexplored regions as ‘HIC SVNT DRACONES’ / “Here Be Dragons”. The corners of these unexplored regions were illustrated with what was believed to be filled with dragons, sea monsters and other mythological beasts. Those who were the bravest would venture and be rewarded with treasures in the unknown. I believe this to be true, as the mightiest of civilisations flourished by learning new ways from other cultures. Using their findings/learnings that they brought back to adapt, enhance and contribute to their own. Strategists should do the same. Now. Depending on how you approach to life, it’s time for you to #GetLost. However, which way you want to interpret that.
