As Human Rights Officer in Bosnia-Herzegovina (Zvornik, Banja Luka and Zenica) in charge of monitoring of the human rights situation (gathering, condensing and analyzing information); intervention, if necessary, with authorities to correct human rights violation; co-ordinate with other international and human rights organizations; co-ordinate with local and international police and peacekeepers the response to return related violance, harassment, intimidation and discrimination; monitoring of trials and the judicial system; in particular close monitoring of the performance of housing authorities and regular consultation with senior local officials; Focal Point for implementation of the Property Law Implementation Plan (PLIP) in Zvornik (2001) and Banja Luka (2001 - 2004); ensure implementation of human rights intervention in the fields of property law in order to facilitate return of refugees and displaced persons; final responsibility for substantial completion of PLIP in the AoR of OSCE Banja Luka Office (covering 2004 more than 50.000 reclaims of pre-war homes); ensure implementation of human rights in education and employment; assessment of social assistance in the AoR in order to define a human rights strategy aimed at the development of a social safety net in accordance with international standards; promote and participate in human rights education; assist, advise and support the work of host country`s national staff (Human Rights Assistants, National Human Rights Monitors and support staff).
As Field Office Director in Kosovo Polje/Fushe Kosove, local representative of the Head of Mission in the geographic area of responsibility (AoR); responsible for the day-to-day administration and operational management regarding all Mission activities in Kosovo Polje/Fushe Kosove and Obilic; supervision of approx. 40 staff in the field office and 2 sub-offices (sub-office in Obilic and one NGO resource centre);close co-ordination of all Mission activities in the AoR with other international agencies (in particular UN, UNMIK Police, KFOR, UNHCR and EUMIK); overseeing of safety, security and protection of Mission personnel and equipment within the AoR in an overall volatile and at times hostile political environment; advising the Director of Field Operations on formulating and planning of policies at the local level pertaining to the OSCE mandate in the areas of human rights, rule of law, democratization and elections; assisting the UN Civil Administration in recruitment of staff for the provisional institutions of self-governance.
Responsible for the management and implementation of a multi-ethnic training programme for personnel of emergency medical services (EMS) and for the set-up of training centres in both of the entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in close collaboration with the Ministries of Health on entity levels; grant provided by European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO)
