• Receiving the patient from all departments who need Intensive care. • Taking care of Endotracheal Tubes and ventilator Management. • Initial Assessment and continuous Monitoring of the Patient. • Taking care of all lines like Central line, Arterial line C.V.P Line Ect. • Medicine administration, ECG and vitals monitoring. • Sending blood samples for Periodical Investigation. • Blood Transfusion and maintaining Fluid and Electrolyte Balance • Giving general nursing care for maintain Personal Hygiene and infection control and giving Psychological Support. • Removal of Lines according to the patient condition • Starting and taking care of patients with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement therapy )
Professional Responsibilities • Participates in educational programme to improve nursing skills. • Attends training, symposium as a part of continuing education activities Quality Responsibilities • Reports to equipment and supply nurse/ head nurse regarding breakages, lossess and malfunctioning of equipments. • Informs and reminds equipment nurse on needed supplies and equipments. • Report to tha charge nurse or head nurse for any error committed in carrying out nursing functions. • Gives opinions and suggestions to head nurse or other health team for the improvement of patient care. • Gives direct health teaching to patient and their family members. • Maintains a safe environment e.g. Appropriate disposal of sharps and needles. Control of infection Safe administration of controlled drugs • Advice housekeeper to maintain a safe and clean environment. • Observe the departmental and hospital wide policies and procedures.
