Leading executive with a 25+ year track record leading M&A, structured finance and large-scale bank growth in Europe and the U.S. Successfully executed complex cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, including orchestration of the purchase and later sale of MeDirect Bank (Malta) plc and multiple follow-on transactions that expanded MeDirect into a multi-jurisdictional banking and investment services group. Headed structuring businesses at major New York and London-based financial institutions, with extensive expertise in ABS/MBS, illiquid credit, risk transfer and capital solutions. Originated and executed several market-leading transactions, including innovative Tier 1 and other structured capital solutions, securitizations and hedging strategies that generated significant profitability and balance-sheet strength. As part of MeDirect’s leadership team, helped to scale the bank from €25 million in assets and six employees to €5.1 billion in assets and operations across Malta, Belgium, the Netherlands and London. Managed regulatory approval processes, debt issuance programs, capital-raising structures, core banking implementation and the build-out of legal, compliance and operational functions. Successfully managed and resolved some of the group’s largest non-performing exposures. Successful corporate lawyer, rising to partner at Brown & Wood (now merged with Sidley Austin). Held Head of Legal roles at listed companies and served as a director of MeDirect’s banks in Malta and Belgium, a securities brokerage and a UK environmental services company. Deputy Chair of the Malta Bankers' Association from 2022 to February 2026. Holder of the CFA designation and member of the bar of the State of New York.
