Lead AT Statutory inspector across Orsted sites on the East and West coast. As a versatile, collaborative, productive and safety-focused GWO BTT-qualified WIND TURBINE TECHNICIAN / TOWER FOREMAN I have been contributing to the optimum safe, timely and compliant performance of Wind Turbine Generators, Offshore Sub-Stations and Offshore Wind Farms (OWFs) at 5 sites, by leveraging a technical background as a Machine Operator, lifting experience as a Slinger/Banksman, and an initial 9 years of Exemplary Service as a Radio Operator, Store Manager & Army Recruiter for HM Grenadier Guards to lead and work with high-performing technical teams.
Ensured the achievement of Client and Contractor QHSE standards / rules in the execution of Cathodic Protection replacement, while adding further value by assisting Technicians in work scopes to expedite safe and timely delivery, involving: ◦ Setting up Emergency Safety procedures for working in the Confined Space of the TP (Transition Piece) ◦ Assigning jobs, signing Work Party Register, and managing communications with vessel ◦ Overseeing and monitoring contractor activities and operations and signing off work on behalf of CWind ◦ Assisting with rigging to remove and install cathodic protection using winches, chain blocks and slings ◦ Working alongside Deepwater Subcontractors installing Anodes, ARCMB boards and AMZY systems.
◦ Conducting 3-monthly inspections of structure and all H&S / Fire Safety / Alarm / Evacuation / Communication / Air Con / Generator equipment / systems, ◦ Checking paintwork / corrosion systems, roof, gratings etc. cleaning / jet washing surfaces as required.
◦ Rigging and mobilising / demobilising 3-phase generators, service kits and fuel hose from vessel to TPs ◦ Installing, commissioning, servicing, (every 500hours), maintaining, and decommissioning Perkins generators.
◦ Prioritising job orders and finishing orders of food and medical film accordingly using slitting machinery.
◦ Perforating, scoring and slitting raw, printed and laminated films using a variety of lasering techniques from continuous and trigger to contouring, and the newest Comexi machinery ◦ Member of the training shift, creating the Training Handbook and delivering training to all new employees.
◦ Using diverse rigging equipment to sling up loads and support safe crane operations for the transfer of hoses to and from the offshore production and testing workshop.
