Worked as a trainee for 2 years rotating around 4 different departments. Spent 6 months in Norden's fuel efficiency department learning about vessels speed/consumption curves and calculating optimal speed of vessels. Then spent 6 months at the Panamax chartering desk performing voyage calculations and assisting in fixing in vessels to cover own cargoes. Afterwards I spent 6 months in the Panamax operations department, where I operated vessels covering their voyage from start to finish. I spent the last 6 months of my traineeship at the market research desk where I worked with gathering and structuring shipping market related data into relational databases and developing power BI dashboards for Norden's chartering teams.
