More than ten years of professional career with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics. Career experience involved high degree of communication and handling under stressful environments - such as busy airport operations, high traffic customer handling counters, airline sales, call centers, warehouses and back office sales data processing and handling. Willing and able to be a quick learner of new environment and ideas.
My responsibilities include active monitoring of the competitive airline travel sales market with reliable data source and coming up with the appropriate action plan / can be reactionary measures. The above routine daily task is always executed in reference to the major strategic company sales objective. Overall socio - political & economic status monitoring, competitors activity monitoring & analysis, strategic & tactical pricing updates, advertising & company public relation tasks are some of my specifically assigned responsibilities. Organizing periodic and random sales events targeting customers and industry stakeholders (travel agencies, embassies, corporations, government & NGOs, etc) - such as seminars, workshops, trainings, trade shows, collaboration sponsorship events and dinner programs were also parts of my responsibilities. I have also served in the position of Customer Service Agent undertaking activities/roles of call center, counter customer service, ticketing, reservation and visa application acceptance & processing (U.A.E).
Before joining Emirates, I have worked for Ethiopian Airlines Group Cargo in two positions for more than 3 years. I have served as Customer Service Agent and Cargo Operations Agent during my service for Ethiopian Cargo. I have worked in the departments of cargo import, transit & export. After joining Ethiopian Cargo, I was trained on all the basic freighter training subjects with operational and commercial aspects for 6 months in Ethiopian Aviation College. I have completed various periodic trainings such as aircraft loading/ unloading w&b, ULDs, safety, special goods handling of perishables, dangerous goods, live animals, couriers, diplomatic pouches, etc. I undertook my assignments in apron, warehouses and cold storage facilities of the company mostly on busy night shifts. Preparing & breakdown of loads in bulk and ULDs, preparing the corresponding load plan/weight & balance manually or automated, loading and unloading on to/from aircraft in coordination with various departments, facilitating the on time departure of flights in coordination with various departments and preparing/sending the post flight reports for every flights I was assigned to. I have also worked on the department of cargo imports that involved unloading, breakdown and delivery of cargo from arriving flights based on various documents such as airwaybills and cargo manifests.
I have taken basic insurance industry service training from Ethiopian Insurance Corporation and worked in junior underwriting position for a short period of time.
