Q9 Networks was a premium provider of internet co-location and managed services for mission critical applications. I was with the company during its many phases including early startup, while it was publicly traded on TSX and its eventual sale to Bell Canada/Ontario Teacher’s Pension Plan. - Lead the Operations Support groups comprised of Control Centre (NOC), Data Centre Technicians, Technical Training, Change Management, and Physical Security Coordination Centre (~70 staff in total). - Ensured scalability of operations as company grew to multi-locations across Canada by establishing appropriate organizations structure, staffing levels, and management processes. - Created, implemented and monitored key performance indicators for Operations. - Developed and implemented disaster recovery plan for Operations to ensure business continuity. - Established and implemented comprehensive change management policies and procedures to govern the delivery of managed services and operation of data-centre infrastructure. - Fostered a culture of high performance and technical competence. - Acted as a 7x24 escalation point for issues and incident management. - Recruited and built technical teams in various functions within the company that enabled the company’s aggressive growth plans during startup phase.
- Founded company to deliver management consulting services and technology support for various business processes. Clients included Perot System, Monsanto and Region of Peel. - Developed software applications to provide enterprise solutions for job evaluation, competency based management, and activity based management processes. - Worked with clients to identify business requirements, test, obtain user acceptance, train, and install software.
- Was a co-founder of the company along with 4 other consultants. - Helped clients in various engagements with Organization Design, Business Process Reengineering, strategy and program design. Clients included Air Canada, London Life, Workers Compensation Board of Ontario and CIBC. - Developed and implemented a unique methodology for cluster analysis on activity/work related data. - Managed the finances and acted as firm's controller including setting up general ledger, monitoring expenses, reporting on financials, acting as liaison with accountants, securing SR&ED tax credit, and handling issuance of shares.
- Conducted statistical analysis and developed various corporate performance metrics associated with the WSIB’s operations and financial performance. - Introduced the concept of queuing theory in the application of analyzing claims adjudication processes. - Implemented Executive Information System to deliver regular updates of corporate data and KPI’s to the executive team. - Supervised Junior Team members. - Participated in design and build of corporate data warehouse.
