Singapore
I am a curious, empathetic and creative leader. After over a decade of organising, facilitating, researching and volunteering in communities in Singapore and Southeast Asia, I plan to use arts-based and asset-based approaches to serve communities in the region. I want to use my strengths to bridge differences among people and across disciplines, to empower communities to believe in their own knowledge and wisdom, and to hone groups' capacity for dialogue and problem-solving. As a quick and keen learner, I genuinely enjoy research, writing and reading across disciplines and languages. I also believe in the good of every individual, and sensitively and meaningfully interact with people of different nationalities, ages, ethnicities and abilities. From the range of conversations and texts I consume, I bring people unexpected insights. If you have freelance work you'd like to place in competent hands (e.g. transcription work, facilitating, mentoring, proofreading/editing/providing feedback - I'm a conscientious filler of feedback forms), do reach out to me here! In my free time, I enjoy learning new things like archery, pottery, water sports, pro-wrestling and dance. I also write creative non-fiction and poetry, and am working on a semi-autobiographical monodrama about a girl who wants to do everything but also wants to be a Buddha. Lastly, if you need a listening ear, I am here for you. Please feel free to reach out here.
