Support the Category Manager to realize a category strategy and determine the assortment selection and plans for the assigned product group. Optimize and execute the buying of products and services at Office Depot for the assigned product group for all channels and all countries in Europe, within the scope of the applicable category strategy and business strategy, in order to realize the objectives for their own product group and to minimize total cost of ownership. Recommend and execute the agreed tactical plans and budgets for the assigned product group. Identify and outline the products to be featured in the touch points, develop and implement promotional and pricing plans in order to promote products and services, in line with the agreed commercial business strategies (category, price, promotion). Monitor, coordinate and deliver the total introduction process of new products in alignment with customer requirements. Determine and realize the optimal category assortment, determine the product selection and portfolio for different customer groups, in alignment with the product life cycle. Identify and select new customer groups and sub categories aligned with the ‘go-to-market’ strategy and in coordination with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain. Signal and analyse relevant market developments with regard to suppliers, price and cost developments and attends relevant events / activities applicable to own category or portfolio. Negotiate with suppliers concerning price, rebates and allowances, quality and delivery conditions for products in assigned category or portfolio. Build, maintain and owns the vendor relationship and a network of relevant internal and external suppliers and business contacts at a senior management level. Provide insights on request or own initiative regarding quantitative and qualitative developments, including budgeting and forecasting, by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and / or analyses, based on reporting guidelines.

To define monitor and operate the offline product strategy, delivering optimal growth and profitability, and offering a compelling customer proposition. To support all local category management activities within the country or region of responsibility. Develops pagination and running orders for Viking and Office Depot´s catalogues. Develops promotional plans for our Mailorder business based on existing mailplans. Prepares price files for a assigned product category.
