The main focus of my work is the development of nanosecond and picosecond pulsed lasers for use, e.g., as direct or pump light sources in LIDAR systems or in THz systems. For their implementation in the real world I realize of hybrid modules that comprise laser chips micro-integrated with driver electronics, micro-optics, and thermal management. The housing of modules is chosen with respect to their target application site, on ground or in space. Thus, my work also includes suitable qualification campaigns.
