Heidi Beate Bentzen focuses on the cross-field between law and medicine. Her main focus is data protection law, in particular sharing and re-use of health and genetic data, and biolaw, in particular the legal regulation of precision medicine and emerging technologies.

Researcher at The Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo on the NordForsk funded project «Governance of Health Data in Cyberspace». The interdisciplinary project aims to develop recommendations for resilient governance mechanisms for health cyberspace that can meet social expectations regarding the security and privacy of health data, while enabling broad use of health data to benefit society. The project is led by The University of Oxford, and in addition to The University of Oslo, Uppsala University and The University of Iceland are partners.
