• Create and lead academic planning to provide quality educational programs that serve both non-credit and credit • Supervise the growth and expansion of all curriculum modalities including synchronous, asynchronous and hybrid learning • Create a culture of innovation and input that encourages professional development and partner with stakeholder input and provides opportunities for growth • Develop new degree programs and options based on local and regional needs and the College's strategic plan • Work collaboratively with staff and faculty in college wide programs and events • Work collaboratively with the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division both internally, as well as statewide in the development of short-term training to meet the needs of the community • Create a culture that promotes the use of technology • Cultivate internal and external partnerships to develop new programs, garner resources, and serve students and the community • Recruits and recommends the employment of full-time faculty and staff assigned to the Division of Professional and Workforce Training/Career/Technical programs and of adjunct faculty • Lead initiatives to expand offerings to high school students, STEP • Collaborate with faculty, deans, and other administrators to meet the holistic needs of our students ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion is in alignment with the College's mission and values • Provide leadership for activities and events that build community and serve students and staff • Represent the College with external community partners (e.g., business, industry, and other higher educational institutions) • Contribute to college/system-wide planning and resource development • Be engaged in and support the work of the College Foundation • Sourcing of federal and state grant funding opportunities • Serve on statewide professional association boards Serve on College Wide New Programs Committee
Channel community relationships to design, develop, review and continuously improve Customized Training and Continuing Education initiatives and prepare students for greater accomplishments in the workforce. Drive new and updated academic offerings of the department, review programs for effectiveness and work with faculty to ensure the continuous improvement based on the needs of the workforce. Champion new processes for student outreach, recruiting and staffing instructors, fundraising, and building the strategic partnerships necessary to achieve the career and technical instruction goals for the school. North Hennepin Community College, Brooklyn Park (2007-2008) CUSTOMIZED TRAINING REPRESENTATIVE (2002-2006) Managed Staff, Faculty and Consultants for contract customized training projects Managed and coordinated course logistics and development with the workforce training/continuing education staff to ensure students were prepared for the immediate needs of the surrounding community. Monitor the progress of programs in operation, initiate meetings and establish procedures for consultants/instructors; while negotiating and finalizing educational training contracts with external customers to meet mutual completion timelines.
