Revolutionizing the payments space
In this role, I run the engineering excellence program which includes: identifying key gaps in engineering craftsmanship, obstacles to engineer effectiveness and productivity as well as impediments to overall engineer happiness and engagement. I work with other engineering leaders on initiatives to address these issues which include improving code reviews, metrics as well as skills inventory and upgrading (or L&D). Here I leverage my extensive experience in various aspects of software engineering to help bring engineering to the next level of maturity.
Climate Corporation is the market leader in the new field of Digital Agriculture. Our technology marries state of the art technologies such as IoT and Data Science with the latest in presentation technologies such as iOS, Android and Web to present useful planning information to farmers. I led a team of 3 engineering managers in charge of quality for our presentation (mobile and web) and e-commerce portal. Key responsibilities include building and raising the bar for test engineers, building up next level test leadership, defining test strategy, evaluating and introducing new tools and test technologies eg. mobile/browser test farms and synthetic monitoring, driving test automation and CI/CD as well as defining how we orchestrate testing across presentation test teams and domain (eg. planting/harvest/fertility planning and yield analysis) test teams. In this phase of growth of the company, we also went from supporting 3 to 22 countries. Here I leveraged my extensive experience scaling quality for global products at Yahoo to bring testing to the next level of maturity.
