Directs the functions and services of Psychological Services within the Special Education Department; Provides administrative leadership, oversight, and operational management of Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS), including nonpublic schools (NPS), nonpublic schools affiliated with residential treatment centers (NPS/RTC), and wrap-around mental health services; Provides direction and general supervision to the District’s psychological services personnel; Coordinates the recruitment and selection process for psychological services personnel and the assignment of school psychologists, program specialists, interns, and other certificated and classified psychological services personnel.
Provided assistance to the special education teaching staff in planning, organizing and coordinating staff functions, facilities, materials, and equipment purchase and use; Assisted site level administrators and the director of special education in supporting, training and coaching certificated and classified personnel within a program for students with emotional disturbances; Provided direct services to individuals with exceptional needs on a consultant basis; Developed and implements training sessions related to behavior programs, methodologies and procedures; Provided behavior management demonstrations to staff; trains and directs special education instructional assistants as assigned.
Provided psychological assessment, counseling, and support to students in an educational setting; Collaborated with teachers, parents, and administrators to address students' behavioral, emotional, and learning needs; Utilized assessments to develop and implement strategies for academic and personal success.
