About

Hi there! I'm a rising senior Creative Writing B.F.A student at Emerson College in Boston, MA, where I focus on poetry and creative nonfiction, with a minor in publishing. I'm a passionate editor with leadership experience in non-profit, literary, and lifestyle magazine settings. My debut poetry collection, "What Happened Was," was released via Bottlecap Press in June 2025! Originally from NJ, I'll be home this summer working with the Poetry Society of New York as a Typewriter & Client Services Intern, bringing poetry to communities across New York City with engaging events! Currently, I'm the Editor in Chief of Concrete Literary Magazine, where I will lead the publication process this fall. This follows my position as Managing Editor, in which I oversaw the day-to-day operations of six departments leading up to the publication of our recent print issue, "Alibi." At Your Magazine, I'm the Romance Editor and will curate the romance section this fall, editing three pieces to amplify fresh narratives about love and modern dating. I'm eager to step up this fall after being the Assistant Romance Editor. Music! I write about it, for Trill Mag and Milk Crate. I'm a rock & roll enthusiast and enjoy reading memoirs from my favorite rock stars. (Check out my interview with Gary Lachman, original bassist of Blondie!) I invite you to connect with me here and take a look at my published work on my website, including poetry, magazine writing, music journalism, and more: hrthorncontinued.com. I'm always interested in multi-media collaboration! ✮
